The King of Elvis tributes returns to Vernon

The King is coming back to the building.

Internationally known, multi-award winning veteran entertainer Donny Edwards returns to the Vernon Performing Arts Centre Feb. 9 with his tribute to Elvis Presley.

“Donny Edwards’ performance is so authentic you’ll feel as if you’re watching theKing himself. With Edwards’ looks, moves and voice, backed by the fabulousCadillac Kings band, it’s a performance not to be missed,” said promoter Mike Schell, with Schell Shock Entertainment.

Edwards will take audiences back to the beginning of Elvis’ career and the sparkof the rock ‘n roll revolution with 1950s’ hits Hound Dog, Don’t Be Cruel, Love MeTender and All Shook Up.

Audiences will also travel back to the ’60s with It’s Now or Never and Viva LasVegas to Elvis’ astonishing climatic concerts of the 1970s and performances ofBurning Love, My Way, American Trilogy and Suspicious Minds.

Edwards has been performing his Presley tribute to sold-out audiences worldwide. He is a Las Vegas casino headliner act and is the only tribute artist ever to perform on the estate grounds of Graceland, Elvis’ home in Memphis,Tenn., where he was made an honorary Tennessean by the state’s governor.

Edwards has performed for celebrities such as Marie Osmond, Dale Earnhardt Jr.and Tony Stewart to name a few. He has also portrayed The King in commercials and TV shows such as The Young and the Restless and several documentaries about Presley.

Edwards has also performed with many of Elvis’ legendary band members such as The Jordanaires, The Sweet Inspirations, Millie Kirkham, DJ Fontana and bassistBob Moore.

“Donny Edwards tribute is all about honoring the memory of Elvis Presley in the most authentic way possible,” said Schell.

Edwards will be touring with Western Canada’s premiere Elvis tribute band TheCadillac Kings, featuring the Uptown Hornz.
