The Vernon Public Art Gallery is enlisting artists for its sixth annual Riot on the Roof to take place Aug. 23 on top of the downtown Vernon parkade.

A night of affordable, alternative art, the Riot ignites the interests of young people in the community to experience and experiment with different art forms.

This year, the night of alternative art for youth and by youth, will feature local bands and musicians, film, interactive art installations, chalk art, performance art, spoken word, poetry, photography, live graffiti art, and any new ideas suggested, said youth ambassadors Nikita Gush and Kevin Robertson, who are organizing the event.

“Right now, we are spreading awareness about this awesome community event and are calling out to all up and coming musicians, artists, and creative contributors who want to help make this the best Riot on the Roof yet.”
