The Silver Star Freestyle Ski & Snowboard Club is hosting the world tour of a new ski movie from Matchstick Productions.

Ruin and Rose screens at the Vernon Towne Cinema Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.

Filmed on location in Alaska, Austria, B.C., Bulgaria, California, France, Switzerland, and the breathtaking sands of Namibia, Ruin and Rose is described as an epic creative vision brought to life by the talents of the world’s top skiers.

“Unlike anything seen before, the dreamlike setting of this film sparks the imagination of not only action sports enthusiasts, but anyone with a beating heart,” reads skimovie.com.

A fundraiser for the Silver Star Freestyle Ski & Snowboard Club, Vernon Paralympic alpine skier Josh Dueck will open the film with some words of wisdom. Prizes have also been donated to be won.

Tickets can be purchased at Olympia, Source for Sports and Attridge and cost $60 for four people or $20 each for adults and $15 each for children 12 and under.
