Instructors at Vernon’s Silhouette Dance Studio are cooking up a dance storm for Vernon Winter Carnival.

The Kaleidoscope of World Dance showcases tap, ballet, modern, hip hop, Polynesian, highland and more at the Vernon Recreation Centre auditorium Friday, Feb. 4.

Participating dance studios include the Aviemore School of Highland Dance, Arise Dance Ministry, and the Hula Halau Ke Aloha Polynesian dance.

“Come out and see our colourful and moving dances representing different areas of our wonderful world,” said Pat Springborn of Hula Halau. “(Visitors can) participate in our silent auction which sponsors dancers for competition and costumes.”

Rogers Foods will also be doing a bread baking demonstration with tasting at intermission.

Tickets include bean soup and a bun, sponsored by Rogers Foods, plus tea and coffee.

Pop, water and international desserts will be available at cost.

Doors to the Kaleidoscope of Dance open at 6:15 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, and can be purchased from the Vernon Winter Carnival office or from the participating dance groups.
