Waterside Winery is inviting people to help them compile the Naughty or Nice list for Santa, with all proceeds from the project going to local charitable Christmas initiatives.

Santa is outsourcing some of his work this year, and has Waterside Winery "making a list and checking it twice" for him.

The local vineyard, located just north of Enderby, has been enlisted to help compile the Naughty and Nice lists and are in turn asking for help from the community in identifying who should go where while also supporting Christmas charities.

In a Facebook post, the winery explained that people can come in and add a name on whichever side they choose for $2, move an existing name to the opposite side for $1, choose a bigger font or colour to names for $1, or move everybody but themselves to the naughty list, or vice versa, for $20.

"This is a community fundraiser and all in good humour!" Waterside staff said in the post. "From town council to family groups, the list is getting longer and longer..."

As of Friday morning, Dec. 6, the Naughty list significantly outnumbered the Nice, with all of Enderby council, and former mayor Greg McCune all in the bad books.

The proceeds will go to local Christmas initiatives such as the Adopt-a-Grandparent, Santa's Workshop and Santa's Anonymous programs. To nominate a name, people can stop by, call them at 250-838-9757 or message with their submissions.

"Names will move daily, and new pictures of the list will be posted daily or as a major movement happens."

Follow the progress of the list on Waterside Winery's Facebook page.
