Anita and 6 Shades of Grey gets the summer party started at Armstrong's Memorial Park this Friday, June 21, as the always popular Music in the Park series returns for the 2024 season.

Music in the Park in Armstrong begins with a touch of Grey.

Vernon-based Anita and 6 Shades of Grey starts the 2024 Music in the Park series at Armstrong's Memorial Park Friday, June 21, at the Lions Gazebo.

"6 Shades of Grey is celebrating eight years of performing this summer," said the band. "One of our first public performances in 2016 was Armstrong’s Music in the Park as the band kicked off the summer series. We have had some personnel changes over the years, and we are excited to introduce you to our newest member."

That would be singer Anita Baturin, who brings her musical experience to the stage with great harmonies and allows 6 Shades to add songs from the many talented ladies’ great hits from the top 40 charts, including country, jazz, and blues. Baturin has been singing with the Legendary Lake Monsters for many years.

"We are super excited to be the first band in the Armstrong’s Music in the Park series for 2024," said the group.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. Those in attendance are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to support the local Food Bank.

Rounding out June's schedule will be the Rule 857 Band Friday, June 28. Slated for July are Cadillac Jack and the Blue Tones (July 5); The Barn Boys Band (July 12); Rollin' Coal Trio Band (July 19); and The Goods (July 26).

The August schedule includes Dixie Fried Hep Katz (Aug. 2); Hat Trick Band (Aug. 9); Rockanagan Band (Aug. 16); and The Young'Uns (Aug. 23).

"We are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors, whose contributions play a pivotal role in bringing Music in the Park to life each year," said Rhonda Keating, organizer of Music in the Park. "With their generosity, we can continue to provide a platform for artists to showcase their talent and create lasting memories for our community."
