2 arrested as police investigate Vernon stabbing

Two people have been arrested as police in Vernon investigate a stabbing that took place early Thursday morning.

Officers responded to a report that a man suffering from stab wounds entered a building in the 3400 block of Vernon’s 27th Avenue around 7 a.m. Feb. 8.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

Investigators determined that the stabbing took place earlier outside a business in the 2400 block of 34th Street.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.

“The parties involved are known to each other and we believe this to be a targeted incident with no known risk to the public,” said Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer, in a media release issued Thursday afternoon. “There will be a continued police presence in the area as officers continue to collect physical evidence in support of the ongoing investigation.”
