Accused enters guilty plea to lesser charge in Vernon motel murder

A case of murder at a Vernon motel has the accused entering a guilty plea.

Paige Courtney Howse pleaded guilty to a lesser included offence of manslaughter at the Vernon Courthouse Wednesday, Sept. 27, in connection with the death of Alishia Lemp, 34, of Kelowna.

Howse had been charged with second degree murder in connection with Lemp’s suspicious death at the Best Value Inn and Suites on 32nd Street Feb. 28, 2020, and was slated to go to trial by jury on Oct. 23.

She was arrested by the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit in Surrey on Sept. 24, 2021.

Howse’s matter has been set aside until Nov. 28 for sentencing.
