Highway 97A was closed near Davidson Road south of Sicamous due to a vehicle collision Friday afternoon.

UPDATE: 3 p.m., Nov. 29

Highway 97A is now cleared and reopened to traffic in both directions.

Original story

Highway 97A is closed just south of Sicamous between town and Swansea Point due to a vehicle collision near Davidson Road.

The crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, with DriveBC saying that drivers should "expect major delays" with no detour is available as Highway 1 is closed because of construction on the Bruhn Bridge. A post to Shuswap Road Report on Facebook states that traffic is at a standstill, with ambulance and RCMP on scene.

The next update will be posted to DriveBC at 2:30 p.m.
