Crash on Highway 97A knocks out power in Spallumcheen

1,911 BC Hydro customers were without power since around Thursday night and well into Friday

A crash on Highway 97A near Westside Road in Spallumcheen knocked the power out for more than 1,000 people Thursday night, and power was still out until 12 p.m. Friday. 

BC Hydro reports 1,911 people were without power since 10:22 p.m. April 17 in an area south of Grandview Flats Road, west of Highway 97A and north of Spotted Eagle Road. 

Traffic was backed up northbound on the highway past O'Keefe Ranch to Westside Road, as of 11:30 a.m. Friday. 

BC Hydro crews were on site and working to get the power back on by 12 p.m.
