Update: 5:40 p.m.
Coldstream fire chief Fiona Morgenthaler-Code said 15 firefighters were mobilized to extinguish a fire in a forested area around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Morgenthaler-Code stressed that the fire was not in Kal Park, but rather on a private property on Coldstream Creek Road.
Multiple apparatus from the Coldstream and Lavington fire departments were utilized as crews "aggressively" doused the fire and took care of hot spots until about 4 p.m., the fire chief said.
Morgenthaler-Code said traffic in the area was unaffected as crews drew water from a nearby pond.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and an investigation is ongoing.
