From restaurants to trades, big outfits to family shops, now is the time to give kudos to local business.
The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations for the 40th Annual Business Excellence Awards.
This prestigious event celebrates outstanding achievements in the local business community, with 19 award categories recognizing excellence across various sectors.
This year, a new award category, Agri-Business of the Year, highlights the vital role agriculture plays in the region. Other categories include Small, Medium, and Large Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, and Non-Profit Excellence, among others.
"The Vernon Chamber's Business Excellence Awards are a truly special celebration of Vernon’s amazing businesses and entrepreneurs," said Dolly Noble, last year's winner of Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
The owner of Noble Yoga Studio is inspired by how much thought and care the chamber puts into recognizing and elevating local businesses and the community as a whole.
"The impacts of winning one of their prestigious awards have been numerous, not only have I’ve been able to celebrate the achievement with friends and family but it’s been a key part of Noble Yoga’s growth and notoriety within our local community and beyond."
Local businesses can be nominated by community members or can self-nominate, until Aug. 26 at https://vernoncc.awardify.io/.
Following the nomination period, businesses will submit detailed applications showcasing their strengths and contributions to the community. These submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges to ensure impartiality and fairness.
The nominations will culminate in a grand awards ceremony on Oct. 24 at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre, where the nominations will be celebrated, and winners will be announced.
