A longstanding Vernon business has been destroyed by flames.
Vernon Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) responded to a structure fire Wednesday morning (Sept. 4) at a commercial building in the city’s north end - Sunshine Autographics.
At approximately 5 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the autobody shop fire in the 4500-block of 31st Street.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed the building was already heavily involved. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but not before extensive damage occurred throughout the building.
There are no reports of injuries.
"While a cause has not yet been determined, the fire has been deemed suspicious and remains under investigation," said Const. Chris Terleski, Vernon North Okanagan media relations officer.
