It's not uncommon for police to receive reports of illegal fireworks being set off, especially on Oct. 31.
But this year Vernon North Okanagan RCMP were called to a case of fireworks being shot at a vehicle.
"We did receive the usual reports of people setting of fireworks, however, no injuries or property damage was reported, except for one instance," said Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., police were alerted that someone had allegedly shot some fireworks at a vehicle in the 4200-block of 16th Avenue.
"It resulted in a small fire under the vehicle that was quickly extinguished," said Terleski.
No suspects were identified and no arrests were made.
Under Vernon bylaws, those illegally setting off fireworks could be liable to a fine of not less than $100 and not more than $50,000.
