Backup was called in to help local police track down a suspect in the North Okanagan Monday.
The RCMP’s Southeast District Emergency Response Team assisted Vernon North Okanagan RCMP officers Oct. 16 with locating a suspect wanted in relation to an assault that occurred near Enderby on Saturday night.
“Investigators were provided information that the suspect involved in the incident was possibly in possession of a weapon,” said Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer.
Teams completed a search near Watershed Road east of Enderby, however, the suspect was not found.
“At this time, there is no known risk to the safety of the public and the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is continuing with efforts to locate the individual,” said Terleski.
