A Canadian ride sharing company that's been in Vernon for 16 months is now taking a trip down Highway 97A to Armstrong and Enderby.
Uride announced it's expanding to the two North Okanagan cities Tuesday, June 11, saying in a release the expansion is part of the company's commitment to improving transportation options in the Vernon region.
"With this expansion, Uride aims to extend its trusted services to these vibrant communities, ensuring that residents have access to safe, convenient, and cost-effective transportation," the company said.
Uride's presence in Armstrong and Enderby means that users can now book rides to and from these areas using the Uride app.
The service will be available on a reservation-only basis, so riders are encouraged to book their rides ahead of time.
"We are excited to bring Uride to Armstrong and Enderby," said Ravi Dhami, Uride’s western regional operations manager. "Our goal has always been to provide affordable transportation solutions that cater to the needs of the community. This expansion not only broadens our service area but also reinforces our commitment to delivering ride-sharing experiences across the region."
In the release, the company emphasized its core values of safety, reliability and affordability, and said its expansion to two smaller cities signals its ability to adapt and meet the demands of communities beyond major cities.
