Snowflake season is here.
The white stuff fell up at Silver Star Mountain Monday, Sept. 30 and is also appearing on some major highway routes.
A special weather statement is in effect for the Trans-Canada Highway, Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass as snow is falling this morning.
Five to 10 centimetres of wet snow is forecast on the route today.
Meanwhile Vernon could see some more showers today before the clouds clear for sunshine Wednesday through to Saturday.
Drivers are reminded that winter tires or chains are required on most routes in B.C. starting today, Oct. 1.
While the ski hill is already seeing some snow, the tentative opening date isn't until Nov. 29.
