Vernon senior Carole Fawcett (centre) has organized several protests in downtown Vernon over the past year, hoping to inspire Canadian pensions to rise. Another rally is planned for the same block of 30th Avenue, between 32nd and 33rd Streets on Friday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m.

All they want for Christmas, and beyond, is a livable pension.

Vernon-based Seniors Tin Cup will hold a rally on Vernon's main street Friday, Dec. 6, seeking support for seniors to have their pensions increased to make living affordable.

The rally will take place on 30th Avenue, between 32nd Street (Highway 97) and 33rd Street, starting at 11 a.m.

"This is about Canadians joining together in solidarity to demand the Canadian government increase seniors' pensions, allowing them to live with dignity," said Seniors Tin Cup member and organizer Carole Fawcett.

"We refuse to be unheard and invisible. Please join us to advocate for those who can't."

Those who wish to participate are asked to bring signs, posters, family, and friends.

A similar rally was held in various B.C. cities Oct. 5.
