A high energy and entertaining volleyball match, in support of the Emily Dahl Foundation, is just days away.

Called Kindness Always Wins, the annual fundraising game will take place at Kalamalka Secondary School on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The Beyond Sport Volleyball Academy athletes will be playing in the match.

“The excitement for this event is building,” said Tony Lorenson, coach at the academy and a former coach and friend of Emily Dahl. Emily died at the age of 18 from suicide. Since her death in 2019, the foundation’s goal has been to promote joy, love, and finding a deeper meaning in life.

“Emily’s Dad, Sherman Dahl visited the academy recently and he shared some memories and insight into how Emily lived her life. She was a leader and always had compassion for others,” added Lorenson.

Lorenson stated that having known Emily, he always remembered her “competitive spirit, but also how she made those around her shine.”

“Our Kindness Always Wins match for the Emily Dahl Foundation, this Tuesday night hopes to keep this message front of mind with our young athletes and community. Please come out to support this work.”

The game will start at 6 p.m. at the gym at Kal, 7900 Mcclounie Road in Coldstream. You can purchase kindness wristbands for a donation at the game. More information on the foundation can be found at emilydahl.foundation.
