PHOTOS: Valley rallies at Vernon pickleball tournament

The Rally in Valley tournament saw close to 300 competitors compete over three days.

Pickleball was in the air, as the Vernon Pickleball Association hosted a fall tournament, Rally in the Valley, that saw close to 300 competitors take part.

Women's, men's and mixed doubles events were contested through three days (Friday-Sunday). Players competed in varying levels, from 3.0 to 5.0 in numerous age categories ranging from 13 years old to 70 plus. 

The big winners of the weekend were the Lower Mainland duo of Michell Davey and Rebecca Bramley in the women's 4.5 and above competition. They beat the Salmon Arm-Penticton team of Tennille Beaumont and Helena Konanz, 10-12, 11-4, 11-5 in the final.

The men's 5.0 competition was won by Kelowna's Jordan Renwick and Osoyoos' Matt Stodola. They bested Abbotsford's Brayden Latray and Kelowna's Richard Xiang, 11-1, 11-9 in the final.

In the mixed doubles competition, it was the Kelowna team of Chantal Plamondon and Kalvin Burgess defeating Kamloops' Adelaide and Kyle Crowder, 11-4, 6-11, 11-9.

The event was contested in the 12-court Okanagan Wealth Advisors Pickleball Complex near Marshall Field.
