A dangerous intersection needs improvements, according to the Regional District of North Okanagan.
Directors voted Wednesday to ask the Ministry of Transportation to install a traffic control light at Highway 97 and Stickle Road, in the Swan Lake corridor.
“We saw two extremely close calls where brakes locked up and horns were honking,” said director Bob Fleming, who recently did some landscaping work along the stretch.
The intersection has been the site of numerous accidents over the years, including some fatalities.
The regional district has asked the ministry for changes to the intersection before but no action has been taken to date.
