The armed attack at Parliament Hill has Kelowna International Airport heightening security measures.
A Canadian Forces member was shot at the War Memorial in Ottawa Wednesday morning while several shots were fired in the House of Commons. This follows two soldiers being struck by a vehicle in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. Monday.
“We will continue to monitor activity in the terminal building and YLW facilities,” said Jenelle Hynes, Kelowna International Airport community relations manager.
“There will also be enhanced security patrols and increased RCMP presence at YLW. We just got off a national teleconference with Transport Canada and increased vigilance will be seen through all modes of public transportation across the country.”
