Vernon RCMP are seeking a suspect after an armed robbery Thursday afternoon.

Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who robbed Vernon Cash Solutions Inc on 26th Avenue in Vernon on Thursday afternoon.

“At approximately 1:30 p.m., a man entered the store, produced what appeared to be a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money,” said Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy of the RCMP. “The man then fled on foot.”

Police were on scene within minutes of the crime but the suspect was not located, said Noseworthy.

The adult female employee, while not physically harmed, was left shaken by the ordeal.

The man is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 6’0″/183 cm tall
  • tattoo on his left hand
  • stocky build
  • He was wearing sunglasses and a hooded sweatshirt
