Martin Zarn (58) rams into Xavier Halliburton's To Swerve and Deflect police-themed vehicle during heat action Sunday at the revival of the Armstrong Demolition Derby at the IPE Grounds. A capacity crowd enjoyed the first derby in more than 13 years.

Armstrong Demolition Derby successfully revived

More than 25 drivers in cars and trucks competed in the first demolition derby after more than a 13-year absence

All six grandstands were full. The bucking chutes were also packed with people.

Rodeo action? Nope.

It was the successful return of the Armstrong Demolition Derby to the Interior Provincial Exhibition Grounds on Thanksgiving Sunday in Armstrong.

More than 25 drivers in cars ranging from Cadillacs to Jaguars to station wagons, as well as trucks, competed in the first demolition derby after more than a 13-year absence.

Drivers came from around the Okanagan and B.C., competing for cash and trophies.
