Armstrong logo to be stamped in chocolate

City gives approval to company to come up with a sweet treat

An Armstrong chocolate company’s desire to use the city’s centennial logo for its commercial purposes is a sweet idea.

Chocoliro Finest Chocolates has been given city approval to use the 2013 centennial logo on its printing of chocolates, merchandise wrappings and chocoloate tin boxes, as well as for advertising and promotional purposes.

“I think we should try to enhance this and encourage other businesses to use the logo on marketing their products from our town,” said Mayor Chris Pieper.

“Chocoliro has chocolates almost worldwide. I would encourage all businesses to celebrate our centennial by using our logo.”

Sign support

The Armstrong-Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce has the city’s  support for a new sign at the entrance of the community.

The sign would incorporate an electronic reader board into the design.

“I don’t think there’s anybody on this council who wouldn’t support such a request,” said Coun. Shirley Fowler.

Approval is needed from the Ministry of Transportation.
