Milan Marcetta scored twice, including the all-important insurance goal late in the third period, and added three assists to help the Armstrong Shamrocks down the Kelowna Raiders 8-6 Wednesday at the Nor-Val Sports Centre.

The victory gave the Shamrocks a sweep of the best-of-five Rowcliffe Cup Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League championship series, and capped off a perfect 11-0 season.

It’s Armstrong’s third straight Rowcliffe Cup title.

The teams were tied 4-4 after the first period with Armstrong taking control of the game in the middle frame, outscoring the Raiders 3-1.

Kelowna pulled to within a goal early in the third period before Marcetta gave the Shamrocks a two-goal lead.

Raiders goalie Tanner Belsham stopped a pair of penalty shots in the game, denying attempts by Cam Nelson in the second period – with Armstrong ahead 5-4 – and Brett Hawrys, with 74 seconds remaining and the Shamrocks up 8-6.
