An 18-year-old Armstrong teen was taken to Kelowna General Hospital following an assault Saturday night in Rutland.
Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at 9:36 p.m.
“Earlier that evening, two groups met at Davie Park in Rutland,” said Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan.
“An argument erupted between the groups and a male struck the 18-year-old Armstrong teen in the head with a blunt object. The suspects fled the area and the victim was subsequently taken to hospital by his friends.”
The Armstrong teen is still in hospital with serious head injuries.
