After eight years with the Interior Provincial Exhibition, Bryan Burns is moving on.
Bryan Burns will leave the Armstrong organization as general manager in the upcoming months to pursue new opportunities.
“Leading the IPE has been a true honour,” said Burns.
“The IPE is one of the best agricultural fairs in North America and I am honoured to have been a part of the IPE family and seeing its growth and development. I love the fair and cannot wait to see how it moves forward. I have every confidence that the success of the organization will continue under new leadership.”
Burns started at the IPE in May 2008.
“Bryan has done an outstanding job at the IPE and we accept his resignation with regret,” said president Ted Fitchett.
“We are proud of the work we’ve done during Bryan’s time with the organization and we are even more proud of our members, board and staff, who have successfully worked tirelessly to put on a world class event.”
Burns’ departure comes while planning us underway for the 117th fair from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4. Hiring for a new general manager will begin soon.
“We are looking for a smart, dedicated and compassionate leader who will support our staff, board and members as we continue to manage a great fair,” said Fitchett.
