Balloon glow moves

Hot Air Balloon Glow moves from its usual spot at Polson Park to Kin Race Track and will take place between 5 and 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5

A Vernon Winter Carnival tradition is switching locations. The 24th annual Hot Air Balloon Glow is moving from its usual spot at Polson Park to Kin Race Track and will take place between 5 and 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5.

“Polson Park is too mucky,” said Carnival chairperson Deb White.

Despite the move, the event is expected to be bigger and better than ever.

“We have 13 balloons this year, that’s way more than last year,” said White.

But some extra hands will be needed to bring the glowing giants to life. A call for volunteers is being made, anyone interested can contact the Carnival office at 250-545-2236.
