Some local seniors need help.
The Okanagan Indian Band has issued a call for volunteers to assist elderly homeowners living on the reserve with filling, delivering and setting up sandbags.
“Call the emergency operations centre to assist at 250-542-7132,” said Shaylen Smith, communications co-ordinator.
“While it is the homeowners’ responsibility to protect their homes, these homeowners do not have extended family or other resources to assist.”
