BC Wildfire Service responding to 15-hectare blaze in the Shuswap

A BC Wildfire Service crew is responding to a 15-hectare blaze in the Shuswap.

Discovered Sunday afternoon, July 9, the Snuffbox Creek wildfire is located southwest of Pukeashun Provincial Park. As of Monday morning, the wildfire was classified as out of control, its cause still under investigation. Twenty BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) personnel were responding along with a helicopter.

West of the Snuffbox Creek fire, on the west side of Adams Lake, the lightning-ignited Spapilum Creek fire was at 16.3 hectares and continued to be held.
