The cause of a fire which engulfed a semi-truck in Spallumcheen Saturday remains unknown.
Armstrong Spallumcheen firefighters were called to the blaze in the 1100 block of Highway 97A (near the auto co-op) around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
“There was nobody there at the time,” said Ian Cummings, fire chief. “The truck was totally destroyed.”
Investigators have been out at the scene but a cause of the blaze has not been determined.
Meanwhile, Armstrong firefighters continue to keep an eye on the smouldering barn fire on Knob Hill Road, which was sparked a week ago (July 1).
“It’s diminishing, we’re just letting it burn out,” said Cummings.
The barn, on a Spallumcheen dairy farm, contained approximately 750 tonnes of hay.
