UPDATE Sept. 17:
The boil water advisory has been rescinded, effective today, and residents can resume normal water use.
ORIGINAL Sept. 10:
Eagle Rock residents in Spallumcheen are going to have to take extra precautions when using their water.
The Township has issued a boil water advisory for the area, out of an abundance of caution.
All water users in the area should follow Centre for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations, and use alternate water sources such as bottled water during this time.
If bottled water is not available, bring water to a full rolling boil for one minute prior to consuming.
According to the CDC, boil tap water even if it is filtered and do not use water from any appliance connected to your water line, such as ice and water from a refrigerator.
Brush teeth with boiled or bottled water and do not swallow tap water when bathing or showering.
