Bridge work closes Mabel Lake forestry road

There will be a temporarily closure at the 19-kilometre marker from Sept. 9 to 30

Travellers are advised the Mabel Lake Forest Service Road will be temporarily closed at the 19-kilometre marker from Sept. 9 to 30.

Ministry of Forests staff will dismantle an old bridge that is  deteriorating and will replace it with a steel-girder, concrete-deck bridge with a longer lifespan.

The Mabel Lake FSR is part of a road system from Lumby  to Three Valley Gap and the closure will obstruct this route.

As  well, the Cottonwood Recreation Site and several private cabins  beyond the closure will be accessible only from the Enderby side or  the Trans-Canada Highway on the Three Valley-Mabel FSR.

The Mabel Lake FSR is located about 48 kilometres east of  Lumby.
