Housing construction climbed in Vernon during September.
There were 26 housing starts compared to 13 during the same month in 2013. Of the 26 starts, 20 were single-detached units and there were six multiple units.
“This boost in housing starts has pushed year-to-date figures over year-earlier levels,” said Sarena Teakles, a senior market analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
Year-to-date, there have been 158 starts in Vernon. That is up from 142 during the same nine months of 2013.
