Interest is growing for an event that will help upgrade Lumby’s arena.

The Bull Bash and Barn Dance takes place Saturday, and tickets are being snapped up.

“They are going great,” said Angie Clowry, one of the organizers.

Funds are being raised for improvements to Pat Duke Memorial Arena.

The Bull Bash will take place in Royals Park because of the additional space available.

“The covered bleachers allow for more up close and personal viewing,” said Clowry.

“People are also welcome to being their lawn chairs.”

Because of an additional financial sponsor coming forward, tickets are being kept at the $25 early bird price until Friday, with kids five and under free. Tickets Saturday will be $30.

Live music and line dancing and two step lessons will take place in the arena.

Gates open for the Bull Bash at 4 p.m.

The adult barn dance takes place at 9 p.m. and tickets for this event are $25 until Friday ($30 Saturday). Tickets are available in Lumby at Jitterbeans and Take Two, and in Vernon at Enlighten Hair & Tanning.
