Cabin broken into

Numerous items were stolen from the seasonal cottage, on the Lumby side off the Mabel Lake forest service road

A cabin on Mabel Lake was the victim of a break-in over the winter.

Numerous items were stolen from the seasonal cottage, on the Lumby side off the Mabel Lake forest service road. A Yamaha generator, a Nissan 9.8 HP outboard motor, a Stihl chainsaw, and numerous tools were stolen.

“Probably looking at a couple thousand dollars I’m guessing,” said Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy, RCMP spokesperson of the value.

“If you happen to see someone around with that particular group of items that didn’t before it might be worth giving us a call.”

It’s unknown when the theft took place as the owners left in November and hadn’t been back until April.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Lumby RCMP at 250-547-2151 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
