Salmon Arm RCMP have numerous power tools and other items believed stolen to return to their rightful owners.

On Saturday, June 17, officers went to a residence on 11th Avenue NE – the reported location of a shed containing suspected stolen property. Staff Sgt. Scott West said the shed was full of items that were recovered by police.

“The property consists of electric hand tools, industrial or shop vacuum cleaners, leaf blowers, gas powered lawn trimmers and various tools which include nail guns, rotary saws and a distinctive welder (just to name a few),” said West in a media release.

West said if you have reported tools stolen and provided a serial number, you can expect a call from the police in the coming weeks “as we go through the property in an attempt to return it to the rightful owners.”

If you have yet to report property stolen, you may submit a report through the Salmon Arm RCMP’s Online Crime Reporting website here.

“Serial numbers are an asset, but not the only way police may be able to get your property back to you,” said West. “A complete description of the item, with distinguishing characteristics like initials or stickers or paint, or well described damage, may be unique enough to get your property back to you.”
