Lake Country’s chief administrative officer has received top honours.
Alberto De Feo has garnered a long-time public service award from the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators.
It acknowledges his 25 years of municipal service in a management capacity.
“I love my job and I have passion for what I do and the community I serve and live in. I believe that my variety of experiences has provided me with good common sense and decent business practices,” said De Feo.
De Feo has also recently completed his term as president of the Local Government Management Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting professional management and leadership excellence in local government.
His career in local government began in Italy in 1987, where he was a city manager. After moving to B.C., he worked as deputy municipal clerk for Delta. He then joined Pitt Meadows in 1997 as director of administrative services.
In 1999 he was corporate officer for Langley and in 2003, he became the chief administrative officer of Williams Lake. He joined the District of Lake Country in 2009.
“I have always believed in the importance of accepting and fostering change as part of municipal business modus operandi to bring the best to the community I live and work in. This has certainly been the case in Lake Country over the past three years,” he said.
