Charges laid in Vernon stabbing

Victim remains in hospital after incident at Polson Park

Charges have now been laid in a Vernon stabbing case.

A 44-year-old man sustained multiple stab wounds in Polson  Park before 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Mitchell  Wade Carefoot, 35, of Vernon has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

“Carefoot has been released from custody on very strict conditions,” said Gord Molendyk, with the RCMP.

“He is expected to appear in Vernon Provincial Court for his next appearance Sept. 13 to answer to the charges.”

The victim remains in hospital and is recovering from the wounds he received during the incident.
