The Chilliwack Chiefs scored seven unanswered goals from seven different players to thump the Vernon Vipers 7-2 in BC Hockey League action Saturday in the Fraser Valley.

The two teams will meet again Wednesday at Kal Tire Place.

Niko Karamanis opened the scoring for Vernon 1:54 after the national anthem. Chilliwack led 3-1 after the opening 20 minutes and stretched the lead to 5-1 after two periods.

Levi Johnson scored a late powerplay goal for the Vipers, who were outshot 45-27 by the Chiefs.

Newly acquired forward Jesse Lansdell - who woke up Saturday a member of the Chiefs before being dealt to Vernon for veteran defenceman Mitch Oliver - was kept off the Vipers' scoresheet, as was defenceman Connor Clouston, picked up by the Snakes from the Western Hockey League's Medicine Hat Tigers.
