City crews continue to remove snow from Vernon streets

Employees have been kept busy since last week's major snow storm

The City of Vernon says its crews continue to make progress clearing snow after last week’s storm.

Over the weekend, city and contract crews completed snow removal on 27th Street and 32nd Street. On Monday night, crews removed snow from the downtown core east of 32nd Street.

“Snow removal will continue in the downtown core west of 32nd Street Tuesday evening, followed by Highway 6, near Polson Park, and 48th Avenue,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the city’s communications co-ordinator.

“Business and property owners can assist by clearing any remaining snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property following the snow removal operation. Snow should be cleared back to private property or boulevard areas where possible and not on to the road.”
