Get ready for the bulldozers in downtown Vernon.
Starting Monday, the City of Vernon will demolish the former New Delhi restaurant and the Open Door Learning building on 29th Street.
“Work will take about eight to 10 weeks to complete. Once completed the site will be used for additional downtown parking,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the city’s communications officer.
No road closures are anticipated at this time.
Ultimately, the property could be used for a proposed 25th Avenue extension.
