Clark poised for victory in North Westside race

Premier running for seat in Legislature while NDP provide challenge

A total of 161 of 171 polling stations in Westside Kelowna have now been counted.

Christy Clark and the Liberals have 7,635 votes while the NDP and Carole Gordon have 3,992. There are 765 votes for the Conservatives’ Sean Upshaw.

Ballot counting is almost over in Westside Kelowna.

Out of 143 polls, Christy Clark has 6,910 votes while there is 3,596 for the NDP’s Carole Gordon and 691 for the Conservatives’ Sean Upshaw. Independent Daylee Van Ryswyk has 91 votes while there are 50 for independent John Marks, 27 for B.C. Vision’s Jag Bhandari, 37 for independent Silverado Socrates and 23 for independent Kory Zepik

Out of 118 polls reporting, Christy Clark has 5,820 votes compared to 3,081 for the NDP’s Carole Gordon and 575 for the Conservatives’ Sean Upshaw.

It’s increasingly clear that Premier Christy Clark has won the Westside Kelowna byelection.

With 92 polls reporting, Clark and the Liberals have 4,628 votes compared to 2,460 for the NDP’s Carole Gordon and 452 for the Conservatives’ Sean Upshaw.

With 60 ballots reporting, Premier Christy Clark has 2,542 votes in Westside Kelowna. That compares to 1,270 for the NDP’s Carole Gordon and 274 for the Conservatives’ Sean Upshaw.

Premier Christy Clark continues to build a significant lead in the Westside-Kelowna byelection.

With 35 polls reporting, Clark has 1,287 votes or 60.45 per cent. That is followed by the NDP’s Carole Gordon at 621 votes or 29 per cent and the Conservatives’ Sean Upshaw at 174 votes or 8.17 per cent.

There are also five other candidates.

Three polls in the Westside-Kelowna race are showing Liberal candidate Christy Clark in the lead.

Clark has 32 votes compared to 22 for the NDP’s Carole Gordon. There are seven votes for the Conservatives Sean Upshaw, two for independent Daylee Van Ryswyk and one for independent Korry Zepik. There are no votes for the other three candidates.

There are a total of 171 ballot boxes.
