Coldstream accident sends motorist to hospital

Emergency personnel was called to Highway 6 at Ricardo Road at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday

A motorist was seriously injured during a single-vehicle accident in Coldstream Wednesday.

Emergency personnel was called to Highway 6 at Ricardo Road at about 5:30 a.m.

“There was a single female occupant inside the vehicle trapped,” said Shane Code, Coldstream fire chief.

“After 10 minutes, we were able to extricate the woman and she was taken to hospital with serious injuries.”

A power pole was sheared at the base as a result of the collision.

The accident is under investigation by the RCMP and Highway 6 was shut down for a period of time.

Also responding to the incident was the Lavington Fire Department.
