Some Coldstream residents have taken it upon themselves to set up their own bus stop seating arrangement.

The bus stop at Aberdeen Road and Venables Drive features a couple of plastic patio chairs for those waiting to get on board.

As a result, Coldstream council has suggested this might be an ideal spot for some transit infrastructure.

“It seems to me that would be a good site to have a shelter,” said Coun. Richard Enns.

Preliminary approval has already been given for a shelter in the town centre area. Ridership numbers are just needed to determine the size of shelter. Coldstream is requesting that ridership numbers be obtained for all stops.

“Let’s look at ridership, period. Where people are getting on the bus,” said Coun. Doug Dirk.

Any new shelters established would look similar to the one across from Butcher Boys on Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon.
