Despite one Coldstream politician’s opposition, progress is building on expanding care for seniors in the region.
Construction of additional units at Coldstream Meadows is underway, with the first two phases of The Terraces project. Now the developer is on track to continue expansion.
The latest construction of two, six-unit residential buildings is currently wrapping up.
The next portion of The Terraces project is to construct three additional six-unit residential buildings.
“Those (first) two units are progressing relatively well,” said Jack Borden, of Coldstream Meadows.
Plans are to eventually construct a series of eight six-plexes along with one commercial service building for a total of 49 units.
“We’ve got seniors lined up, waiting to move in,” said Borden.
Despite opposition from Coun. Richard Enns, Coldstream council gave approval to the next phase of the project Monday.
Enns would not comment on his decision.
