A Coldstream woman suffered only minor injuries Thursday after an SUV crashed into her home.

The woman had been in her bedroom at her home in the 8700 block of Kalview Drive shortly before 5:30 p.m. when the SUV smashed into the house where the bedroom was located.

“There were at least three people in the house,” said Coldstream Fire Chief Dave Sturgeon. “The woman was assessed at the scene by emergency personnel. She did not require to go to the hospital.”

The driver of the SUV stayed on-scene and Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP attended. The matter is still under investigation but road conditions are being considered as a factor in the mishap.

The house suffered significant damage upon impact.
