Work has begun on the second phase of the Silver Star Road multi-use path project.

Crews are confirming underground utility locations prior to construction.

Over the next few months, construction crews will be working between the Silver Star Gateway Business Park and BX Elementary School and will be on site Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

Motorists traveling southwest along Silver Star Road are reminded that a detour will be in place during construction hours and some travel delays should be expected. Northbound and eastbound traffic will remain on the road.

The first detour has been marked along MacDonald Road to Rimer Road, and then to Pleasant Valley Road, with signs directing traffic around the site. A second posted detour is also available via L and A Road to Rimer, however motorists could use other unsigned routes around the construction site.

If traveling in the area, slow down for construction and detour zones for the safety of workers, residents and others who are traveling.

Check vernon.ca/roadconstruction for updates on the project and the marked traffic detours.
