Crews on scene of reported logging accident east of Lumby

Emergency services personnel and Vernon Search and Rescue are on the scene of a reported logging accident in the Monashee Pass

UPDATED 12:01 P.M.: Vernon RCMP and Vernon Search and Rescue say three loggers were hurt when a tree fell on them.

The call to emergency personnel came in just before 8:30 a.m.

Two of the loggers were checked out at the scene by ambulance crews. The third injured logger was taken out of the bush by Vernon Search and Rescue’s helicopter winch, and was then transferred to Air Ambulance who were waiting at the scene. The injured logger was flown directly to Kelowna General Hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

Emergency services personnel and Vernon Search and Rescue are on the scene of a reported logging accident in the Monashee Pass.

The accident scene is on a forest service road 34 kilometres east of Lumby off Highway 6 and approximately 45 kilometres up the road.

There are reports of several injuries.
